An issue that matters to me is [youth] leadership. As I observed the leadership pursuits of my peers, I saw how easily good intentioned-leaders became corrupted leaders, and how charismatic leaders became narcissistic. Some leaders that I admire in history are Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela who not only voiced the many injustices against people of African descent, but who also called for equality for all. I get inspired by successful women, female academicians, female philanthropists and youths that spend their time doing genuine volunteerism at the grassroots level.
I get encouraged when I meet or read about young people who try to be better at what they lay their hands on.
I get touched when I see/read about young people with great visions and dreams. Especially those that aspire to become a voice unto our generation.
